The center is an open place where young people come to meet friends and leaders. Here everyone is considered an opportunity. The center provides an opportunity for personal and joint development in a safe environment. The work is led by trained commited leaders. A necessary prerequisite for conducting our work is time for relationship building. The mission of the center is to provide a public development environment for children and young people. At the center, there must be special competence to confirm those who to a lesser extent than others are regarded as opportunities by the rest of society. The center should be an important instrument in the community to strengthen and develop young people to individual welfare and citizenship. Central to the activity is the voluntary meeting.
Everybody deserves som joy in life
Respect
All people have equal value. You must respect that others do not think, feel and want to do just as you do. Want to change something, you do it through dialogue, discussion and negotiation.
Language
To create security, a decent demeanor is required. One does not use derogatory expressions and "ugly words" about each other.
Drug-free zone
All activities at the center are drug-free. It is a security for both the young people and parents.
Age
From 6 years of age upto age of 17 are the once we focus on.
This is us giving back to the community
What do we do at the Center ?
The center can be a second home, an extra living room. You can sit and talk, listen to music, play games without feeling the need to participate in any controlled activity. A meeting place for young people simply. Fritidsgården is sometimes a real activity center. There are regular activities that you can participate in if you want. For example, LAN, palystation, X-box, ping-pong, billiards, air hockey, dance, football games, movies, travel and camps, boys 'groups and girls' groups. If you do not want to do anything, you can just relax in the café. The center will be what the young people and staff do of it. With youthful creativity and curiosity, it is possible to do a lot ...
Young people are the responsibility of adults!
Adults are responsible for children and young people. But it is other adults than at home and at school who take their responsibility at the center. Adults that they can also trust and talk to. Adults who set a good example and who respect young people and their views on life. The staff at the centers are trained leaders, social educators or have other training with special skills such as music, sports or media to work with young people. The center leader's task is to take advantage of and promote the visitor's conditions, creativity, needs and personal interests both in groups and individually.
Equality
Is there a difference between boys and girls? Or between those fortune and those less fortune? Of course it is. Are people treated differently because of their gender, ethnicity, religion or disability and appearance? Of course they do. What's wrong with that? At the center, it is important that the children and young prople feel respected regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, class or physical disability. At the center, everyone is the same and yet different. Not everyone wants to do the same things. Or want to do almost the same things, but not in the same way. By tradition, prejudice or habit, we treat each other according to a certain pattern. It can be very wrong. At the center, we listen to the individuals. What is important, what is fun, how should we be towards each other, how do we react, how do we resolve conflicts? Democracy is not easy, it is relatively tough. Everyone has the right to have their say, but they must also listen to others. You have nothing more to say because you are stronger, good-looking, or good at boxing. You try to learn to say your opinion and to listen to and value the opinions of others.
Voluntary but not undemanding! Fritidsgården has a few, simple, obvious rules that everyone should know. Rules that are easy to understand but may not always be so easy to follow
